June 23 to July 14, 2013 : FlyProvence in association with XL Airways and Ricard will be in New York City to promote "Marseille Provence". With tree events around Petanque and Provencal culture, they wishto stimulate the american travelingin the area.
On the opening occasion of the new direct flight between Marseille and New York City, FlyProvence in association with Ricard and XL Airways are organizing great events in the Big Apple.
The aim is to promote "Marseille Provence" and to stimulate the american travelingin the area.
Sunday, June 23, 2013 : A "Sunday in Marseille" will take place at the 5thAve. and E49 St. crossing.
From 11 am to 5 pm, during the Neighborhood Block Party, more than 1000 new-yorkers will be able to discover the assets of the destination, to visit a provencal market, to have a drink in the Ricard's bar and to play Petanque on one of the nine play-fields available.
From 7 to 10 pm, 200 NYC's travel agents and journalists would assist to the "Provence"presentation and after, enjoy a "Provencal Gastronomy"themed cocktail cooked by the Marseille's Fonfonrestaurant.
Thursday, July 11, 2013 : The Cercle Rouge restaurant (241 West Broadway) will host the "Bastille Day". From noon to 10 pm, Financial District workers could compete on a dozen of Petanque play-fields. 5 000 people are expected.
Sunday, July 14, 2013 : The same formula than above will be repeated at the Bar Tabacrestaurant (128 Smith St., Brooklyn), except that this time 20 000 participants are expected on 20 Petanque play-fields.
